Mavericks one win away from WMBL Finals.

Game three of the 2018 Western Division Final took place at RE/MAX Field, in Edmonton between the Medicine Hat Mavericks, and the Edmonton Prospects, and the Mavericks took the victory 14-3. The Mavericks now lead the series 2-1.

Jumpei Akanuma got the start for the Mavericks, and picked up win number two of these playoffs. Akanuma pitched seven very strong innings for the Mavericks, giving up only three runs to the Prospects on six hits, while striking out three batters as well. The Mavericks did not have to go very deep into the bullpen as they only used one arm in relief; David Vilches pitched two shutout innings to close the game, and recorded three strikeouts as well.

The Mavericks had another hot night at the plate, recording seventeen hits combined. Carson Johnson, and Zack Gray led the way for the Mavs with three hits each. Gray also had a two run home run in the game. Gray led the team in runs as well, coming around to score three times. Four Mavericks batters came around to score twice, Sal Rodriguez, Nolan Rattai, Louie Canjura, and Jaxson Hooge.
