July has begun, and the Mavericks are on a roll winning their last 11 games in a row! The start to July has been a much different month for the Mavericks than June was. The wins are still coming in strong, but they're coming in a different style. In June the Mavericks were notorious for blowing teams out with scores such as 13-5, 14-4, 15-5, 15-2, 15-1, and 23-3. July on the other hand has been the complete opposite of that, and the Mavericks have had to come back from behind to win the two games they have played against Swift Current, and Weyburn.

On Sunday July 1st, the Mavericks were taking on the Swift Current 57's at Athletic Park. Going into the bottom of the 8th inning the Mavericks were trailing the 57's 3-0 but that all changed in the 8th when Julien Ly was walked with the bases loaded to bring in one run. With the score now at 3-1, Jordan Dray stepped up to the plate, and delivered a 2 RBI single to center field, to tie the game up at 3. The game ended up going to extra innings, where the Mavericks walked off in the 11th inning with a Louie Canjura RBI sac fly to left field that scored Colton Wright, to complete the comeback, and make it a 4-3 victory for the Mavericks, their 10th in a row.

One day later, on July 2nd the Weyburn Beavers came to Medicine Hat having won 7 of their last 10, and had a 20-5 record, good for first in the East Division. The Beavers took an early 4-0 lead after the 2nd inning, and extended it to 7-3 after 4 innings of play. It looked as though Weyburn had things all under control at Athletic Park with Conner DiNaro cruising through 5 innings for the Beavers. It was a slow but steady comeback from the Mavericks. The Mavs were only able to score 1 run in the 5th, 6th, and 8th innings making the score 7-6 for the Beavers going into the 9th inning. Once in the 9th, David Salgueiro, Carson Johnson, and Colton Wright were all able to get on board with no outs, and Zack Gray stepped up to the plate. Gray hit a 2 RBI single right up the middle, to complete the comeback and get the Mavericks second straight walk off victory at home, 8-7.

Mavericks take on the Weyburn Beavers in the second night of a back to back tonight at 7:05 pm at Athletic Park looking for their 12th win in a row. Come out, and support the Mavs as we look to continue the win streak.
